Peter A. Johnson (Planning Director)

Peter Johnson is a Chartered Civil Engineer who holds a BSc Honours Degree in Civil Engineering, is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Member of the Institution of Highways and Transportation Engineers, a Member of the Chartered Management Institute, a Member of the Association for Project Management and a Member of the Project Management Institute (USA).

He has over thirty years experience, gained in the United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East, on the design and construction of projects of values up to US$1.2 billion embracing roads, quarrying, asphalt and concrete manufacture, concrete and steel bridges, marine works, military and civil airfields, railways, water and sewerage projects, power stations, industrial process plants, industrial, commercial, residential and university buildings and M & E installations.

Mr Johnson specializes in the computerized critical path analysis of construction projects and has extensive experience in the use of current project management software over a variety of platforms.

He has been appointed as Expert Witness for construction planning and financial matters before leading international Tribunal in domestic and international arbitrations.
He has extensive experience of the analysis and determination of entitlement to extension of time and additional costs arising from delay and disruption.
He has developed techniques for the analysis of "concurrent delays" that have been endorsed by leading arbitrators.
Mr Johnson has been approved by the Law Society as an expert witness and has trained in the responsibilities of a Single Joint Expert.

For the past 2 years he has been a member of the Society of Construction Law working party for a Protocol on Delay and Disruption.
